Features: In 1991, a severe ice storm forced the closure of all airports and highways in Kentucky. Because of the Snow Tech™ snow and ice melting system, this was the only operational heliport in the state. The Air National Guard used this heliport as their base of operations for almost a week, transporting severely injured patients to the hospital for treatment.

Features: Since installation of the Snow Tech™ system, coal has not frozen in silo. Prior to installation, freeze-ups were common – shutting down coal production until plug could be manually broken out of cone.
